The National Qualifying Series (NQS) was the first step in the 2023 season pipeline, started in mid-July and concluded in early October. Athletes at the juvenile through senior levels in singles, pairs and ice dance participated in select official competitions nationwide and earned a score that resulted in in a national, sectional, and – for singles only events – regional ranking.

Gold pins were awarded skaters ranked in the top 25% of their event overall. Silver pins were awarded to the skaters ranked in the top 50% of their event. Bronze pins were awarded to all other participants. The Chicago Figure Skating Club recognizes and celebrates the level of commitment and dedication of these athletes.
